Polyester and polyurethane repairs...
However carefully we try to look after our pianos, anyone can accidentally scratch or chip the high-gloss finish. The good news is that this can normally be remedied in situ and isn't usually expensive.
I have been trained by Konig UK, the market leaders in polyester and polyurethane repair techniques and products, and I use their repair kits because I believe in them; I wouldn't want to risk my reputation using inferior products.
Of course each repair job is slightly different, but a straightforward scratch or scuff can be repaired in about 20 minutes, whilst a chip or deeper scratch in polyester normally requires two visits (because the polyester resin needs to harden fully before finishing the surface). The results are virtually invisible and can restore the instrument to its original condition, literally overnight.
If your piano is damaged in such a way that it cannot be repaired in situ, I can arrange for it to be sent to a specialist firm to be stripped and re-coated. This will take several weeks, depending on workload at the factory, but I will do my best to arrange a loan instrument for you during this time.
